Asus P5N-D Motherboard
The P5N-D is a NVIDIA® 750i SLI chipset-based motherboard that combines powerful performance with great energy efficiency; and supports NVIDIA® SLI technology with PCI Express 2.0 for extreme graphics performance. It also comes with the worlds first ASUS EPU (Energy Processing Unit), allowing the CPU power supply to be digitally monitored and fine-tuned with improved VRM efficiency in heavy or light loadings – attaining the best possible power efficiency and energy savings to help save the environment.

Detailed Features

A Closer Look

Socket
This motherboard features a Socket 775
design.

Chipset
The P5N-D motherboard is based on the NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI Northbridge chipset. It supports Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo,Core 2 Extreme, Pentium Extreme, Pentium D and Pentium 4 LGA775 Processors, with Hyper-Threading Technology and 800/1066/1333MHz Front Side Bus support.

Memory Expansion
The P5N-D provides 4 DIMM sockets using Dual Channel 240-pin DDR2 with a total capacity of up to 8GB-64bit. You can install DDR2 533/667/800MHz Memory.

PCI Express 2.0 Support
PCI Express Base 2.0 specification doubles the interconnect bit rate from 2.5 GT/s to 5 GT/s in a seamless and compatible manner. The performance boost to 5 GT/s is by far the most important feature of the PCI Express 2.0 specifications. It effectively increases the aggregate bandwidth of a 16-lane link to approximately 16 GB/s. The higher bandwidth will allow product designers to implement narrower interconnect links to achieve high performance.

IDE
The P5N-D includes built in IDE facilities that support Ultra DMA 33/66/100/133.
Audio
The P5N-D comes with a Realtek ALC883 audio codec which supports high quality 8-channel audio.

Serial ATA Support
The P5N-D supports the Serial ATA technology through the Serial ATA interfaces. Doubles bus bandwidth which provides blazingly high disk performance, up to 3.0Gb/s, with RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5 and JBOD
Double Speed; Double Bandwidth
This motherboard supports the latest PCIe 2.0 devices for double speed and bandwidth which enhances system performance.
NVIDIA SLI™ Technology
NVIDIA SLI™ (Scalable Link Interface) takes advantage of the increased bandwidth of the PCI Express bus architecture and features intelligent hardware and software that allows two GPUs to efficiently work together to deliver earth-shattering, scalable performance. For some applications nearly 2X performance!
Dual-Channel DDR2 800
DDR2 is the next generation memory technology to replace the current DDR. With the highest speed up to 800MHz, DDR2 memory provides great performance for 3D graphics and other memory demanding applications.
